Johnny KaneJohnny joined 27 News in 2006 after spending two and a half years at WKAG-TV 3 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky where he covered all sports south of the border in Clarksville, Tennessee. A Delta, Ohio native, Johnny graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Ohio University's E.W. Scripps School of Journalism in 2003. "Being able to work in the broadcast industry has provided me so many memorable expriences. I've been fortunate to cover two presidential visits by George W. Bush, interview NFL Hall of Famer Steve Young, and swap stories with coaching legend Bob Knight before he retired. The highlight of my professional career, however, is following the Kansas Jayhawks to the 2008 National Championship. It is a moment I will treasure for the rest of my life." The second greatest sports spectacle Johnny says he's ever witnessed came in June, 2004 when he was at the Belmont Stakes for Smarty Jones' failed bid for horse racing's Triple Crown. Johnny's other passion in life is politics. When he's not on the clock, the Ohio native can be found working on his golf game around the Topeka area. E-mail Johnny: jkane@ksnt.com |
