Meet the Team

Nate's career at KSNT started in May 1997. After moving his way through the sports ranks as Reporter, Weekend Sports Anchor and Sports Director, Nate switched gears and began anchoring the news in 2001. In December 2006 Nate was named News Director.

Mitch joined 27 News in April 2009. You can watch him anchoring weeknights on 27 News at 9pm on FOX 43 and 27 News Nightbeat on KSNT.

Kelli co-anchors 27 News at 5, 6 and 10pm. She can also be seen in her weekly "Kelli's Cameo" reports. She joined 27 News KSNT in September 2007 as a reporter/producer.

Amy joined 27 News in September of 2008 as a general assignment reporter. Earlier that year, she received her master’s in journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.

Audrey joined 27 News in April 2009 as a general assignment reporter. She graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in broadcast journalism. She is a Missouri native and thrilled to return to the Sunflower state.

Affton Neilsen joined 27 News in January 2010 as a general assignment reporter. Before joining the 27 News team, she graduated with honors from the University of Central Missouri.

Johnny joined 27 News in 2006 after spending two and a half years at WKAG-TV 3 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky where he covered all sports south of the border in Clarksville, Tennessee. A Delta, Ohio native, Johnny graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Ohio University's E.W. Scripps School of Journalism in 2003.

Alex joined 27 News in August of 2006 as a news photographer/editor while attending the University of Kansas. He is now the weekend sports anchor/reporter. A native of Allen, Texas, Alex became a Dallas sports fan instantly.

Jeremy was named 27 News Chief Meteorologist in April 2008. Jeremy brings with him a vast experience in forecasting a variety of weather. Before coming to Topeka, Jeremy worked as a meteorologist at WHAS11 in Louisville, KY for more than four years. He has also worked for the weather syndication company WeatherVision in Jackson, MS and as a meteorologist at KRBC-9 in Abilene, TX.

You can watch Tom on both 27 News Today on KSNT and Good Day Live on FOX 43. He graduated from of the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in Atmospheric Science and a minor in math.

Frank Waugh joined 27 News in May 2008 as a weekend meteorologist. Frank graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelors Degree in Atmospheric Science. While at KU he broadcasted on the student cable station KUJH-TV and was a rower for the Kansas Crew Team.
