Affton Neilsen joined 27 News in January 2010 as a general assignment reporter.
Before joining the 27 News team, she graduated with honors from the University of Central Missouri, with a broadcast media degree and a speech communication minor.
During her college years, Affton got the chance to serve as a professional cheerleader for the AFL and intern at WDAF-TV in Kansas City.
Affton grew up in Blue Springs, Missouri, but loves living in the Sunflower State! In her free time, she enjoys spoiling her pets, traveling, shopping, and spending time with her family and husband, Lorenzo.
