More Problems With Emergency Sirens
Reports have been coming in that two of Shawnee County's emergency warning sirens still weren't working correctly after a test Monday. So, Emergency Management Director Dave Sterbenz took a look at the two siren sites Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency Management officials received reports that after Monday's tests a siren near southeast 6th and Deer Creek Trafficway did not go off While another near Our Lady of Guadalupe church wasn't very loud. Shawnee County Emergency officials checked on both sirens Tuesday and found the one near our Lady of Guadalupe Church was functioning correctly while the one near 6th and Deer Creek was still not working possibly due to a low battery. County Emergency officials say replacement batteries have been ordered and the siren will be repaired shortly. |
