Pets Lost in Morning Fire
No one was hurt in a fire in the Montara neighborhood this morning, but some pets didn't fare as well.
The Shawnee Heights Fire Department arrived at the house at around 10:30 this morning.. When they arrived, the fire was out, but smoke could be seen coming from the basement. Authorities tell us the fire likely was started by an over-heated electrical element used for terrariums in the basement. A number of pet snakes, lizards and frogs died in the fire but firefighters were able to rescue two cats. |
