Overnight Police Standoff
A standoff at a Topeka home ends peacefully as police take a federal fugitive into custody.
Around 8-30 Thursday night, officers were patroling near the 200 block of southeast 35th Terrace when they noticed a man they believed to be a federal fugitive. When police tried making contact with him, the man ran inside a home with nine other people inside. Police set up a perimeter and the other nine people came out of the house. Nogatiators eventually coaxed the suspect..28 year old Quinton Lawton out of the house around 11-30 PM. He was wanted for a narcotics charge and was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections. |
