Ramp To Close For The Weekend

Ramp To Close For The Weekend

Weather permitting, on Friday, July 18, the eastbound I-70 to northbound US-75 ramp in Topeka will close for a bridge repair project. Crews will replace the existing strip seal expansion joints on the bridge ramp. The ramp will close at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18, and will reopen to all traffic at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, July 21.

Advance message boards will alert drivers to the ramp closure. A marked detour will be provided. Traffic will follow eastbound I-70 to the MacVicar Avenue exit, Exit #359, where they will then turnaround at the interchange, and proceed back west on I-70 to the northbound US-75 exit. Drivers should expect minor delays and are advised to use alternate routes, if possible.

Wildcat Concrete Services Inc. is the primary contractor on this $48,000 bridge repair project. The scheduled completion date for the repair project is Monday, July 21, weather permitting.

The Kansas Department of Transportation urges all motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs, and “Give ‘Em a Brake!” when approaching and driving through the project work zone.
