Child Safe After Afternoon Abduction

A police search helped a mother find her ten month old baby boy after the child was abducted shortly before four o clock this afternoon.

“We received a phone call report of a domestic disturbance at 2720 se Colorado, and upon our arrival we found there was a child abduction involved with it,” said Capt. Jerry Stanley, TPD.

Police say a twenty three year old black male --Ivan Jackson-- is the suspect.

“A black male, approx 24, 6'2" multicolored shirt abandoned his car behind a house in the 3800 block of se Lakewood Place and then left on foot with the child,” said Stanley.

Police say Jackson fled on foot one more time after returning the child to this house in the 3200 block of Humboldt a little after four thirty this afternoon.

“We had a multiple agency effort, KHP state patrol, and Shawnee County Sheriff Department assisting on this,” said Stanley.

Police questioned neighbors along the trail, and were able to see the baby boy safe at home with its mother before five o clock this evening.
