The City of Topeka has its 14 plows ready and 30 workers ready to hit the streets to plow this next round of snow.

The standard for plowing is typically when two inches of snow has fallen. However, Public Works superintendent Ed Winton says it is really a judgment call, particularly since this snow is expected to drift.

Winton said the department first plows main street then secondary roads.

"If we can ask the residents indulgence to get through their residential area to a collector street, and then to the main, that we can possibly get them to work on time," Winton said.
