Reading church rededicated after tornado recovery

Nine months ago the town of Reading, Kansas, was devastated by a catastrophic tornado that left the United Methodist Church in disarray.

After an EF-3 tornado tore through the town on May 21, 2011, the chuch was in shambles, and many remember the devastating scene.

In the initial days, Reading was closed to incoming traffic, but not to the aid that came pouring in.

More than 30 people sought shelter in the church's basement, a place that came to be the entire town's meeting space.  Now, the church is once again a shelter and refuge for those who follow the spiritual path...

The rededication of the church filled nearly every seat in the small church on sunday.  Messages of praise thanks filled the air.  One church leader says this church is 130 years old, and even in a small town like reading, she says it's still a very relevant place.
