Jury finds man guilty in hit-and-run of K-State student

MANHATTAN, Kan. (KSNT) - A Riley County jury convicted a driver of hitting a Kansas State student with his truck, then leaving the scene, prosecutors said Thursday.

Nicholas Blaha hit 21-year-old Amber Wilhelm in an early morning hit and run on April 14, 2017.

Wilhelm was crossing Bluemont Avenue in Manhattan when Blaha hit her with his truck.

Wilhelm had stopped in the crosswalk and was bent over while under the influence of alcohol, police said.

She was critically injured.
