One person in hospital after West Topeka shooting

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) - A man is recovering in the hospital Friday morning after an overnight shooting in West Topeka. The victim was walking in the 5200 block of SW 15th Ct. when he was shot by an unknown person.

Shawnee County Communications tells KSNT News that the victim was dropped off at St. Francis Health Center in a private vehicle.

Police say around 1:00 a.m. they responded to the hospital in reference to the victim.

The victim did not provide a description of the suspect or any description of vehicles involved.

We're told the man has non-life threatening injuries and is expected to fully recover.

Police say the investigation remains on-going.
