TPD releases names of those involved in Sunday shooting

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) - Topeka Police are on the scene late Sunday afternoon of a shooting in southwest Topeka where four people were killed.

Over a dozen Topeka officers responded to the scene in the 4100 block of SW 28th Street after reports of gunshots being fired at 3:50 p.m.

When officers arrived on scene they found five people with gunshot injuries. Four people were pronounced dead on the scene and one injured with the person responsible for the shooting among one of the deceased. Officials say the shooter died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The person injured was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

UPDATE:  Topeka Police say the person believed to he responsible in this incident has been identified as 25-year-old Joshua Gueary.  The other victims are:  29-year-old Larry Gueary, 64-year-old Jesus Galvez and 20-year-old Soren Galvez.  All are from Topeka.

Police say the residence in which the incident happened is part of a business that provides in-home-care for individuals with special needs. The residence and one vehicle are being held as part of the investigation.

Topeka police tell KSNT News they are not looking for any other suspects at this time.
