Vacant south Topeka restaurant being torn down

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) - A south Topeka building that used to be the home of Furr's Cafeteria came tumbling down Thursday.

The restaurant has been closed for nearly 20 years. It sits just south of the John Hoffer Chrysler Jeep dealership.

McPherson Wrecking is handling the demolition which will take two or three days.

The manager of the auto dealership tells KSNT News he bought the property from Kent Lindemuth.

Once demolition is complete, the space will be used for more parking for the auto dealership's vehicles.
