Mailman Assaulted
The Topeka Police Department has arrested a man in connection with the assault of a Topeka mailcarrier.
Ronald Brooks junior of Sabetha was booked Thursday by Topeka police officers on charges of aggravated burglary...aggravated assault...and battery. It all stems from an incident occuring Thursday afternoon when police were called to the 2100 block of southeast Ohio for unkown trouble. Upon arrival officers found a man had knocked on the front door of a residence and when the occupant answered he forced his way inside and displayed a gun to the 22-year-old female and the baby she was holding. He then left, no one was injured and nothing was taken. The suspect then struck a postal carrier who was delivering mail in the area. The victim, a 33-year-old male, was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The suspect did not know either of the victims. |
