Mold Shuts Down KDHE LabHannah Wooldridge
The KDHE laboratories at Forbes Field are closed because employees discovered mold on the ceilings.
Doors will remain shut until specialists can determine how much of the building contains mold. The lab opened in 1974 and is responsible for tests like newborn screening, STD testing, and water quality testing. The KDHE says the majority of the lab's seventy employees will be out on paid leave until the end of the week. The lab at Forbes Field is the only KDHE run lab in the state. Private labs will be hired to do the lab work until a long term solution is reached. |
