City’s Financial System To Be Down Friday

City’s Financial System To Be Down Friday

Customers who normally pay their City Utility bill or sign up for City of Topeka Parks and Recreation programs at the City Express Payment Center, 620 SE Madison, or transact utility account business through the City’s Utility Call Center, will not be able to do so this Friday, October 3.

The City’s computerized financial system will be off-line for a routine software upgrade. It is expected to be completed by early afternoon Monday, October 6. The City’s Web-based bill paying system will also be down on Friday until Monday.

CoreFirst Bank & Trust, the City’s depository and its off-site utility bill payment service, will continue to accept payments on Friday. As always, utility customers using CoreFirst’s service must have a copy of their bill when making a payment.

Utility payment drop boxes will also not be affected. Those locations are:
•City Hall parking lot entrance – 215 SE 7th St.
•Downtown Post Office – 424 S Kansas Ave.
•Cyrus K Holliday Bldg. – 620 SE Madison St. (main entrance).

Customers are reminded that payments deposited in drop boxes may require up to 5 days for processing.

Customers who use the walk-in City Express Payment Center, the City’s Utility Call Center or the online payment service to pay their utility bill should try to complete these transactions by Thursday, October 2 or they will have to wait until Monday, October 6. This also similarly impacts the ability to conduct Parks and Recreation business at City Express.
