An eight-month investigation has led to charges against 20 people allegedly involved in manufacturing and distributing methamphetamine in southeast Kansas.
Attorney General Steve Six's office announced Wednesday that prosecutors from its office joined with 13 other law enforcement agencies involved in the drug sweep Tuesday. The arrests were made in Chanute, Iola, Stark, Paola and Fort Scott. Seventeen of the 20 people charged were arrested Tuesday. Two men arrested last week were included in the anti-meth operation and charges are pending against another man. Those arrested were charged with crimes that involved obtaining large quantities of ephedrine and pseudoephedrine, using those ingredients to make methamphetamine and then selling the drug. The attorney general's office says more arrests are expected.

Frank Lynn Miller (DOB: 10-18-1975), of Fort Scott, was charged with one count Conspiracy to Manufacture a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), one count Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine, six counts Use of a Communication Facility to Facilitate the Manufacture of a Controlled Substance or in the alternative six counts Use of a Communication in a Conspiracy to Commit the Manufacture of a Controlled Substance. Bond was set at $100,000.
Darin Russell Lansdown (DOB: 05-18-1974), of Iola, was charged with one count Conspiracy to Manufacture a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), one count Conspiracy to Possess Methamphetamine, one count Distribution of Methamphetamine, three count Use of a Communication Facility to Facilitate the Manufacture of a Controlled Substance or in the alternative three count Use of a Communication in a Conspiracy to Commit the Manufacture of a Controlled Substance, two count Use of a Communication Facility to Facilitate the Possession of Methamphetamine or in the alternative two count Use of a Communication in a Conspiracy to Possess Methamphetamine. One additional man was arrested on probable cause and charges are pending. Charges against Duane Eugene Lansdown and Justin Chad Seabolt last week were also part of this anti-meth operation. Additional arrests and charges are expected.
