Authorities are searching for a man they're calling a "homicide suspect" near Auburn.
Scanner traffic indicated that four people were shot around 6 p.m. Saturday at 905 S. Topeka Ave. in Burlingame and that at least one person is dead.
Traffic indicated that two of the victims may have been a woman in her 20's and a young boy, and that they may be related to the shooter. 27 News is working on confirming that with sheriff's deputies in Shawnee and Osage counties.
Deputies have a pretty large area blocked off in the Burlingame/Auburn area. Auburn Road is closed between 103rd and 109th streets. Deputies armed with M16 rifles are telling drivers to turn around. They're blocking off an area where the alleged gunman is believed to be on the run.
Osage County Sheriff's Deputies asked for helicopter and canine assistance from Shawnee County emergency.
Around 9 p.m. Saturday, a helicopter was circling the area, sometimes using a spotlight.
The Shawnee County Sheriff's office is asking anyone in that area to report suspicious activity such as dogs barking or someone who walks through your yard or field. They say stay in your home and call 911 if you see anything unusual.
The gunman is believed to be a white man, about six feet tall, wearing a tan jacket and jeans. He is described as skinny and has a beard. He may be carrying a .223 rifle.
