Icy conditions are being blamed on a rollover accident that sent two people to the hospital Monday afternoon.

The accident happened just before 1pm east of I-70 & Fairlawn.  A Kansas Highway Patrol report shows a car was headed east on I-70, when the driver lost control, hit the median wall and rolled over, ending up on its top.  Emily and Justin Bond of Kansas City were taken to Stormont-Vail hospital.  An 8-month old baby who was also in the car was not injured.  The report indicates the child was properly restrained in a child passenger safety seat.

Meanwhile, The Topeka Police Department continues to investigate an injury accident on US-75 at I-70.  A Topeka Police officer was transported to a local hospital by American Medical Response with non life-threatening injuries.  The officer was called to the location to investigate a traffic accident.  While the officer gathered information needed to complete his report, a passing motorist lost control of their vehicle striking the vehicle in the first accident.  The vehicle from the initial accident slid into the officer causing the officer to be injured.
