The small town of Alta Vista in southwest Wabaunsee County is recovering today from last night's storms. The town saw hail almost the size of baseballs and winds of about 80 miles per hour.
Tree limbs throughout town fell and debris lined streets and yards.
South-facing windows throughout the entire town were blown out.
There are no injuries reported, and now the town is focusing on cleaning up from a storm that spared no one.
”The damage mostly is roofs, probably 80 percent of all the roofs,” said mayor Karl Lloyd.
The power went out briefly last night, but the lights are now back on.
The Wabaunsee County Sheriff's office estimates damage in Alta Vista to be several million dollars.
