A bed that helps babies sleep longer would be a dream come true for new parents and Josh Waddell, a local scientist and inventor created a product he believes will do just that.

His answer to a baby that can't sleep through the night, is a Waddlebee, an infant bed for babies up to three months old.

Waddell tells 27 News this is no ordinary baby bed, his invention replicates the up and down motion a mother's respiratory rate to soothe the baby.

Waddell did invent the bed but could not have done it without the help of the Advanced Manufacturing Institute to bring his invention to life.

AMI and Waddell received a grant from the Kansas Technology Institute to build the prototype.

Waddell says he thinks his dream will bring sweet dreams for babies and their parents.

Creators say the Waddlebee should be available next year. For more information on the call the Advanced Manufacturing Institute in Manhattan at 785-532-7044.
