We got a chance to travel with the Governor and his staff around the statehouse and the state for one day. This is a story you will only see on 27 News.
We arrived bright and early, meeting up with Governor Parkinson right as he was headed to his office. The Governor got right to work, preparing for a cabinet meeting.
Gov. Mark Parkinson says, "We have a much smaller staff than most people think. We have a staff right now between 15 & 18 people. We don't have a staff of a hundred people trying to figure all these things out."
One of the only staff members the public meets is Larry Howell, who works at the reception desk.
It's been only a few weeks since Mark Parkinson took on the role as Governor of our state. A role he never thought he would be in.
