About 100 bikers headed to Topeka this morning for a motorcycle ride honoring a hometown hero. They're riding to raise money for a navy seal who was wounded in Afghanistan.
Lt. Daniel Cnossen is recovering at a hospital in Maryland after having both legs amputated. He stepped on an IED during his first 36 hours in Afghanistan.
Bikers in Topeka, lt. Cnossen’s hometown, are revving their engines and rolling out, raising money for Cnossen's family.
"I'm a Navy disabled vet myself, and I just thought it'd be a good idea to put this together and support the hometown hero," organizer Jason Creollo said.
Cnossen's care is paid for, but his family has a lot of expenses while they're staying in Maryland with him.
Many of the bikers at the ride don't really know Cnossen. Even Creollo only met him once, but they want to show Cnossen their support.
