The City of Topeka Water Department is working to fix two separate water main breaks near Stormont-Vail Regional HealthCenter. The repairs are expected to take all day.

Between Washburn Avenue and Garfield Street, SW 10th Street is reduced to one lane in each direction as crews work to repair a water main break in the two eastbound lanes.

The intersection of SW 9th Street and Garfield Street is closed while repair work is done to repair a water main break. That break has affected all buildings, including doctors offices in the blocks surrounded by 10th 8th Garfield and Mulvane. Cotton O’Neil patients should report to their appointments as scheduled unless they have been contacted, said Nancy Burkhardt, Stormont-Vail spokesperson.

Shawnee County Health Agency on the southeast corner of 8th and Garfield is also without water and is now closed. Health agency patients are being contacted to reschedule today’s appointments, said Alice Weingartner, Health Agency Spokesperson.
