Pretty perfect pumpkin picking weather this weekend

We're tracking very warm weather across Northeast Kansas, heading into the weekend. Our average high temperature for this time of the year is 64° and it continues to fall. Highs today will approach 85° with help from gusty south winds. Warm south breezes will gust up to 30mph at times today - hold onto your hat! Believe it or not, but it's going to be REALLY WARM tonight too. Low temperatures will only drop into the middle 60s (yes, around our average HIGHS for this time of the year). The reasons for this? Daytime temperatures some 20°+ above average AND the winds won't relax overnight. That's right - Saturday is going to be windy too. In fact, 'mostly sunny' skies prevail this weekend with 80s expected on Saturday afternoon. What month is it?

Slightly cooler weather will drift in by Sunday, as we shake the persistent south flow. Highs will slide into the lower 70s on Sunday afternoon. However, Mother Nature still believes Halloween should be earlier in the year, so we're tracking 80°+ on Monday with wall-to-wall sunshine. Temps will 'cool' into the lower 70s just in time for the trick-or-teaters! We couldn't order up better weather to close out the month, even if we wanted to. It's also worth noting that we won't be seeing frost anytime soon. Overnight temps will be in the 50s for at least the next ten days.

As November approaches, cooler weather will be moving into our neck of the woods. Expect daytime temperatures in the 50s and 60s by this time next week. Clouds will be increasing by Wednesday, with scattered showers re-entering the forecast shortly thereafter. Next week's potential weather-maker stands as the only hiccup in the extended forecast. Stay tuned.
