Motorcycle Wreck Seriously Injures Topeka Man

Topeka Police are continuing to investigate an injury accident that occurred Tuesday. Topeka Police were called to SW 17th and Stone at about 5:35 p.m. Tuesday to a two-vehicle injury accident. 22-year old Joshua Mulqueen of Topeka was eastbound on 17th on a 2004 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle and a 2001 Toyota Tacoma pick-up, driven by 46-year old Douglas Cafer of Topeka, was traveling northbound on Stone, when the two vehicles collided.

Mulqueen was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. His condition remains life-threatening at this time. Nine-year old Cameron Cafer of Topeka, who was a passenger in the pick-up, was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries. A younger boy who was also a passenger in the pick-up was not injured.

The Topeka Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the accident. At this time it does not appear speed or alcohol were factors in the accident. Anyone with information regarding this accident is asked to call Sgt. Don O’Dell at (785) 368-9487.
