Kan AG Has Booklet To Help Identity Theft Victims

The attorney general's office has produced a brochure to help people who are victims of identity theft.

The 24-page booklet gives consumers advice on what steps to take if someone has stolen their identities, including how to repair their credit and keep from being held liable for fraudulent credit charges.

The brochure also explains how thieves can steal someone's identity and how to prevent it in the future. Spokeswoman Ashley Anstaett said Thursday that the office began distributing copies earlier this month at the Kansas State Fair. It also plans to make them available in banks and law enforcement offices.
