Roadrunners Defeat Blizzard 4-2
Two wins separate the Topeka Roadrunners from securing the city's first ever hockey championship. The Runners defeated the Alexandria Blizzard 4-2 Thursday in their 2nd round-robin game of the tournament. Tied at two heading into the 3rd period, Aaron Gens and Reed Seckel tallied a pair of powerplay goals to lift the team to victory.
Now comes the tall order of getting past the St. Louis Bandits Frday night. Topeka is already guaranteed a spot in the semifinals on Saturday win or lose Friday, but if the Runners can find a way to beat the Bandits, they will have have a bye Saturday and will earn an automatic berth in Sunday's title game. |
