An In Depth Look at KU's New Football Facilities
KU's mulit-million dollar upgrades to its football facilities are at the cutting edge in college football.
The Anderson Family Football Complex all totaled pushes beyond a $30 million pricetag and spans 80,000 square feet. The new locker room stretches 6,000 square feet with 115 spacious lockers. The weight room covers 8,000 square feet with top of the line machines and free weights. 56 flat screen televisions are spread throughout the facility, which will be used for tv purposes and for a messaging system. The players lounge is equipped with tv's and playstations, and plenty of couches. Head Coach Mark Mangino's office is complete with a 60-inch flat screen tv and a touch screen control monitor at his desk, meaning he can control the blinds, the temperature, the television, etc. all with the touch of a button. The office also offers a panoramic view of Memorial Stadium and the brand new practice field. Everything will be fully operational by the start of the season. Aug. 30. |
