The Chiefs will start Damon Huard at quarterback Sunday when division-rival Denver comes to Arrowhead. Herm Edwards said he wants somebody in there who can protect the football. Tyler Thigpen's three interception performance at Atlanta sealed his fate as the backup, again, as the Chiefs now sit at 0-3.

Kansas City is in the midst of its longest regular season losing streak at 12 games dating back to last season. The Chiefs have given up 30 points off turnovers, and right now rank 28th out of 32 teams in total offense.

The 35-year-old Huard started one game this season against Oakland before being pulled with dizzy spells.
