Michael Dakota joined KSNT in Topeka as a digital content producer in 2020.
Originally from Ohio, Dakota graduated from Kent State University with a degree in photo-illustration in 1989.
Dakota was a newspaper photojournalist for three decades working in Louisiana, Kansas, Ohio, North Carolina and Pennsylvania before becoming a digital content producer for WOIO in Cleveland, Ohio in 2017.
He was nominated for an Emmy in 2018 for his part in a collaborative story about the mural art scene in Cleveland.
During his free time Dakota loves to spend his time kayaking and exploring.
