Nova is a six-month-old labrador retriever mix. He’s an energetic boy that’s looking for an active family to match his personality. He loves playing with toys, but Nova also loves just getting to spend time with people. You can even adopt Nova at a special price on Black Friday.
“We’re having a Black Furday on Friday, and we’re going to have all the animals half off,” said Abby Allen, adoption counselor at Helping Hands Humane Society in Topeka. “So come see Nova, and all the rest of the animals.”
Even after Black Furday ends at Helping Hands, adoption fees for all pets seven years and older will still be half off through the rest of the month. That’s because November is Adopt A Senior pet month, and a great candidate of an older dog is Brock.
Brock is a eight-year-old boxer mix. His age may be deceiving because he can have the energy of a puppy at times. Brock is just a playful pooch who still enjoys playing with squeaky toys. Brock is ready to go on plenty of new adventures with a new forever family.
Last, but not least, is Bermuda. Bermuda is a one-year-old domestic shorthair mix that has been at Helping Hands since May. He can be extremely shy at first, so he would do best with a family that is willing to give him all the time he needs to warm up to them. Bermuda even has a sponsor buddy that has already covered his adoption fee for his future family.
Helping Hands Humane Society in Topeka will be closed on Thursday due to the Thanksgiving holiday. However, if you’re interested in adopting any of the pets we featured, they will be open starting at 11:30 on Friday morning.
