Gov. Kelly, Kansas Department of Health and Environment hold coronavirus update

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – Governor Laura Kelly and Dr. Lee Norman, Secretary of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, are holding a coronavirus briefing Wednesday afternoon.

This comes after lawmakers reversed Gov. Kelly’s executive order limiting religious gatherings and funerals. In the news conference, Kelly said this was a “shockingly irresponsible decision.”

Kelly added that she’s directing her chief counsel to explore their legal options to “resolve this confusion.”

The state is reporting 1,046 positive cases of coronavirus and 38 deaths as of Wednesday afternoon.
