TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) — Governor Laura Kelly gave her weekly coronavirus update Monday afternoon.
The state has had an increase of 1,597 positive cases and eight new deaths since last Friday.
“During August and September, Kansas experienced the worse disease spread and number of virus related deaths in any two month period since the pandemic began,” Gov. Kelly said.
Kansas has 60,846 positive cases and 690 deaths, according to the Reno County Health Department.
“My administration will continue to pursue every strategy, find every resource possible to improve our COVID-19 outcomes to save lives and to keep our economy and our schools open,” Gov. Kelly said.
