Shawnee County Health Department holds daily COVID-19 briefing, announces 3 positive cases in county

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – The Shawnee County Health Department is holding its daily COVID-19 briefing at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Those who spoke included SCHD Director Linda Ochs, Topeka Mayor Michelle De La Isla, Deputy Planning Chief Errin Mahan, Shawnee County Sheriff Brian Hill, Topeka Police Chief Bill Cochran and Childcare Aware Eastern KS CEO Reva Wywadis.

Ochs announced three positive cases of the coronavirus in Shawnee County. All three live in the county.

A Stormont Vail spokesperson confirmed a 70-year-old woman and 23-year-old man tested positive at the hospital and both have traveled out of state. The 73-year-old man tested positive at The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus. A hospital spokesperson said the man had no travel history.
