68 pounds of meth valued at $1 million seized after traffic stop in Abilene

ABILENE, Kan. (KSNW) – One man was arrested after 68 pounds of methamphetamine was discovered in a Dickinson County traffic stop KSAL reports. 

According to Dickinson County Sheriff Gareth Hoffman, on Monday deputies with the Dickinson County Drug Enforcement Unit stopped a 2018 Nissan truck pulling a small U-Haul as it exited I-70 at Abilene. 

Once the vehicle was stopped in the parking lot of the 24/7 Store, a drug dog alerted officers.

A search of the U-Haul was conducted and 68 pounds of meth with a street value of $1 million was discovered.

Juan Carlos Garcia, 35, of Southgate California was taken into custody. Garcia is facing numerous charges including the possession of meth with the intent to distribute.
