Former Kansas State running back Alex Barnes is gearing up for the NFL Draft and is drawing interest from the Kansas City Chiefs. Barnes took part in the Chiefs’ local pro day last Friday.
“It was about an hour long workout with the running back coach, the O.C. (Eric Bieniemy), and the whole staff was there watching all of us work out and stuff,” Barnes told KSNT Sports. “I did really well, ran a lot of routes out of the backfield, lined up out wide a couple of times and then afterward I met with Coach D (Deland McCullough), the running back coach there for about an hour and a half afterwards, and just had a good talk.”
Kansas City will likely draft a running back in the upcoming draft and Barnes could be an appealing option after leading the Big 12 in rushing.
