An armed robber held up a Manhattan Dairy Queen Wednesday morning, Riley County police said.

Officers responded to a 911 call around 9:50 a.m. reporting an armed robbery at the Dairy Queen in the 1000 block of N 3rd Street. Witnesses described the suspect as:

  • A man standing around 5’8″ tall, weighing 150 lbs.
  • Wearing a grey hoodie, black pants and black gloves.
  • Carrying a tan Dillons grocery bag.

The suspect was last seen running westbound from the Dairy Queen. The nearby Bluemont Elementary School was put into secure campus due to the suspect remaining at large in the area.

RCPD warned not to approach or attempt to capture the suspect if spotted, and to instead call them at 785-537-2112.
