Car catches on fire in North Topeka

TOPEKA (KSNT) — At 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, the Topeka Fire Department went to 106 NW Highway 24, Lot 34 on a call about a car on fire.

A Topeka Police Officer was in the area when they found the burning vehicle and called the fire department.

When fire crews arrived, they found the car engulfed in flames. Radiant heat from the fire caused damage to a trailer in lot 34, but fire crews were able to extinguish the fire before it spread over to the trailer.

A Topeka Fire Department Investigations Unit responded in an attempt to determine what caused the fire, but the cause remains undetermined as of 8 p.m.

The estimated dollar loss is $2,000.
