People came together Wednesday night at the Abbey Church at Benedictine College to honor the memory of a local teacher and her unborn child.
Hannah Lager was killed in a crash Wednesday morning on K-4 Highway, just two miles north of Valley Falls.
Lager was a Spanish teacher at both Valley Falls High School and Jefferson County North High School.
She and her husband both graduated from Benedictine college, where her husband currently works for the IT department.
Those who knew her described her as someone who was always willing to serve and a joyful person to be around.
Lager and her husband were expecting their first child according to a post on Benedictine College’s Facebook page.
“Losing anybody is hard,” said Fr. Simon Baker. “Losing someone like Hannah is particularly hard, someone who is loved by so many.”
Benedictine College has set up a fund to help raise money for the funeral expenses. You can donate to that fund HERE.
You can also bring cash or a check to the business office located on the third floor of St. Benedict Hall at Benedictine College.
