The East Topeka Learning Center finally has a completion date. After a delay in construction, the center is now expected to be completed by May 1.
Originally, the building was suppose to be done in December. The company that first got the contract, Champion Builders, went bankrupt, adding months to construction plans.
“In January, we did have to move that completion date due to the delays, caused by the bankruptcy of the prior general contractor,” James Crowl, County Counselor, said. “So, we moved that completion date to May 1. So we’re still on track for that.”
Summer classes are expected to start in this building, once it is complete.
