Easterseals Capper Foundation previews Pumpkin Palooza

Events get underway at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Lake Shawnee.

Pumpkin Pancake Feed – starts at 8:30am and is included for registered motorcycle riders of the Pumpkin Ride.  Public fee is $7 for adults; $4 children 3yrs to 11yrs.;  2 yrs and under free.
Location:  Tinman Circle, Shelterhouse 4 at Lake Shawnee  Pancakes prepared by the famous Bob Carmichael of Perkins Restaurant & Bakery.
 
Pumpkin Ride – Kickstands up at 10am.  Route posted on website – basically goes north and circles communities northeast of Topeka, returning to Lake Shawnee via 45th & East Edge Road.  Riders may register at the event – $35 for rider; $45 for rider with passenger.  Pancakes included!  Prizes for riders! Local law enforcement will be supporting the ride and assisting with safety.

Pumpkin Palooza – 11am to 2pm – includes “everything pumpkin” games for all ages and abilities, pumpkin decorating, inflatables, pie-eating contests (pies courtesy of Washburn Tech Culinary Department), pumpkin walks every 15 minutes (baked goods courtesy of Pie Bird Pie), balloon art and the much anticipated “pumpkin catapult” into Lake Shawnee.  Candy and prizes galore!!!  Vendors, including face painting, jewelry, and food trucks too.  Raffle at 1:30pm for a new 2018 Harley XL883N.  $50 per chance and only 500 tickets available for great odds to win.
Fee to play games:  $5 for any age; $10 for pie-eating contest; $5 for catapult pumpkin; $3 for pumpkin walk  
Location:  3145 SE Croco Road at Lake Shawnee – former swim beach parking lot
 
Parking – Bettis Sports Center, Tinman Circle, plus the event parking lot as space is available. Handicap parking is in the event parking lot by the food trucks.
