Fiesta royalty candidates begin food sales

A tasty Topeka tradition kicked off Wednesday.

Food sales for the Fiesta Mexicana king and queen candidates are now underway.

Each year, the candidates sell authentic Mexican food to raise money for Holy Family Catholic School.

You can purchase tacos, burritos, tamales and other items from the activity center at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.

“A lot of work goes into it,” said king candidate Gabriel Mosqueda III. “The ladies and the gentleman that were here helping us over the last couple days, it really meant a lot to us.”

Sales are Wednesday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Saturday sales will start at noon and last until 7:00 p.m.

The 86th annual Fiesta Mexicana will be held July 16 – 20.
