Friends, family grieve loss of loved one from triple homicide

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) — We’ve learned that the male victim of Sunday’s triple homicide was the father of the female victim’s unborn child. Police tell KSNT News that 23-year-old Dominique Ray was the boyfriend of 20-year-old Camrah Trotter.

“I have to adjust to life on earth without her,” best friend, Tyra Marteen said.

Camrah Trotter’s best friend and brother are remembering her as a fun person. They say the last few days have been extremely tough after losing someone they talked to everyday.

“Can’t describe a feeling for it and can’t describe an emotion for it. just loss for words,” brother, Terrill Trotter said.

Trotter was taking classes at Bryan University and working at Midwest Health Resort. She also had a four year old daughter who will now grow up without her mother.

“She worked hard to make sure that both she and her daughter were good. she loved her daughter,” Marteen said.

Tyra Marteen says Camrah was getting ready to move into a bigger home for her and her family.

Both, Tyra and Terrill say they’re trying to focus on the joy Camrah brought to their lives.

“If you just met her, you would think she was quiet and shy. but, if you got to know her she was goofy.”

“Loving…caring,” Trotter said.

“She was really goofy,” Marteen said.

the two say they can’t imagine why someone would kill someone who didn’t have any enemies and kept to herself.

“She didn’t have issues. everybody that knew her, they loved her. like, I mean, if you didn’t know her, you just wish you would have.”

A second victim in Sunday’s shooting was 23 year old Dominique Ray…the father of Camrah’s unborn child. An arrest has yet to be made, and police are hoping the public can help.

But Camrah’s best friend still struggles, knowing justice won’t bring them back.

“Horrible. innocent lives taken.”

Camrah Trotter’s funeral is set for next Thursday at Peaceful Rest Funeral Home in Topeka. Friends and family are also raising funds for the funeral and to support Camrah’s four year old daughter through a GoFundMe account.
