The Emporia State Hornets fell just short in the MIAA Tournament quarterfinals with an 82-79 loss against #1 ranked Northwest Missouri State. Craig Doty’s first season as head coach ends with a 14-16 record.

Senior Julius Jackson scored 38 points for Emporia State and made seven of 10 three pointers attempted.

“I just tried to go out there and give it everything I had. I know we were just a couple of possessions from winning,” said senior Julius Jackson in his final game.

“These guys mean everything. Every future win of this program is gonna be a credit to these guys, their commitment, their dedication and what they’ve meant to us,” said head coach Craig Doty whose team had six seniors.
