Finalists have been revealed for KSNT’s high school football Player of the Year award.
Ky Thomas, Topeka High – Ky Thomas has been dominant for Topeka High. The junior averaged 9.3 yards per carry during the regular season and finished the season with 1,243 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Gabe Garber, Sabetha – Gabe Garber has been a duel threat for the undefeated Sabetha Bluejays. Garber has 12 touchdowns on the ground and 9 through the air. He’s rushed for 638 yards and has completed 68 percent of his passes with 584 yards.
Jacqez Barksdale, Topkea High – Barksdale missed the start of the season, but he’s really come strong for Topeka High. Barksdale rushed for 917 yards in just 6 games with 16 scores and an incredible 12 yards per carry.
Jordan White, Washburn Rural – White has made a lasting impression in his senior season at Washburn Rural finishing with 18 touchdowns, 9 on the ground and 9 through the air. White ran for 698 yards and passed for 989, a total of 1,687 yards.
Kevontae McDonald, Manhattan – Running back Kevontae McDonald finished the regular season with 20 rushing touchdowns and 1,039 yards on the ground.
Dalton Kellum, Perry-Lecompton – Kellum completed the regular season with 22 total touchdowns, 16 rushing and 6 passing. Kellum had 1,639 yards of total offense.
Mason Griffin, Silver Lake – Silver Lake finished the regular season perfect and Mason Griffin threw for 14 touchdowns and just 1 interception. Griffin threw for 1,249 yards while completing 62 percent of his throws.
The winner of the KSNT Player of the Year Award will be announced on KSNT News at 6 on Wednesday, October 31st.
