Ladies Day Out returns to Kansas Expocentre tomorrow

Ladies Day Out, a local trade show geared towards women, returns to the Kansas Expocentre Saturday. The semi-annual event features more than 70 local vendors and a food truck festival.

“Everything from clothing, to beauty, makeup, fashion, home goods, food, snacks. We’ve got two food trucks coming, so just a lot of shopping. Get some things marked off your Christmas list,” said organizer Lisa Dodds.

Admission to the event is a $2 donation to Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). Ladies Day Out has previously collected school supplies and backpacks for the organization. Organizers hope to raise $1,500 this weekend to support services for one child for a year.

“We have such a need in Shawnee County. There’s usually about 300 kids at any given time that are in the system and these are the high needs cases, so really needy kids,” said Dodds.

Ladies Day Out is from 10 am to 3 pm in Ag Hall at the Kansas Expocentre.
