A group of neighbors are on a mission. They are trying to spread the word about an AT&T cell tower that could be going up in their neighborhood.
“It’s affecting our neighbors, our property values, and some of our people cannot afford to move away,” said Rosie Prall who lives in the Highland Acres neighborhood.
Prall has lived in the neighborhood since 1993. She’s worried if the tower goes up, that she will want to move away.
People in the community are worried about radiation coming from the tower and damaging their health.
While the American Cancer Society said cell phone towers do produce radio frequency waves, there is little evidence right now to support the idea it’s enough to cause health issues like cancer.
That’s still not convincing neighbors. They are holding a meeting on Monday to talk about the tower.
The meeting will be held at Highland Park High School in the library and the meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.
