Axe throwing business opens in Manhattan

Local News

If you’re looking for a new team building activity, there’s a business in the Little Apple teaching people how to bury the hatchet.

Axe To Grind opened its doors Monday. It’s the only business in the area that teaches people how to throw axes. General Operations Manager Jonathan Frazzell said it’s great for parties, work events, dates and even lunch breaks.

“First couple throws you know you might get a clanger where it falls off to the side,” he said. “But if it hits home and you start sticking it, you just kind of get a rush and all of the sudden you start challenging yourself. It’s fun how much it really drives into you a little bit there.”

You can pay to throw for either one or two hours. Everyone is trained how to throw the axes safely. The staff said they usually have people sticking the axe in the target within 15 minutes.

Frazzell said the plan to offer beer soon, and they already sell non-alcholic drinks.
